Indonesia to recognize Kosovo soon

"Indonesia is expected to recognize Kosovo's independence very soon," said the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudojono in London.

"It is very likely that very soon Indonesia will recognize the independence of Kosovo," he was quoted as saying during a lecture on London School of Economics.
 
The Indonesian President asserted that "Kosovo issue can be seen from the perspective of the right of Kosovars for independence as part of the breakup of the former Yugoslavia."
 
Indonesian president also stressed that the topic of Kosovo was also discussed with Secretary General of UN, Ban Ki-moon, and the former UN envoy for Kosovo status, the archictect of Kosovo's independence, the Nobel laurate for peace, Martti Ahtisaari.
